Scott Vancil

	Scott Vancil, 90, of Dowell, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2003 at 10:45 p.m. at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
	Mr. Vancil was a Road Construction Operating Engineer for the Local 150.  He was a member of Cathedral of Praise in Carbondale.
	He was born March 2, 1912 in De Soto, the son of Cornelius and Mollie (Blacklock) Vancil.  He married Katie Horn on October 30, 1937 at St. Louis, Mo.
	Surviving are his wife, Katie Vancil of Dowell; one son and daughter-in-law, James and Linda Vancil of Du Quoin; four daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Wayne Poole of Du Quoin, Laura James of Marion, Virginia and Roger Stewart of Dowell and Anita and Charles Kreid of Dowell; one sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and John Fleming of Du Quoin; 13 grandchildren, Tammy Seaward, Scott Morgan, Todd Morgan, Elisabeth James, Paul James, Tim Stewart, Gina Noble, Mike Stewart, Jami Vancil, Terri Young, James Vancil Jr., Brent Kreid and Kelli Price and 28 great-grandchildren.
	He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, David; two sisters, Inez Woosley and Nora Hart; one son-in-law, Melvin James and one brother-in-law, James 'Lupe' Lane.
	Funeral services were Wednesday, January 8 at 11 a.m. at Neal-McClure Memorial Chapel with Sis. Betty Davis, Bro. Donnie Colson, Bro. Keith Filer and Bro. Chuck Fitzpatrick officiating.  Interment was in Hallidayboro Cemetery.
	Friends called at the Neal-McClure Funeral Home in Du Quoin on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. until time of service.
	Memorials may be made to Cathedral of Praise Church.
